Beginning in the Fall of 1994, Billie McNamara spearheaded a movement to establish a formal Archives for preservation of Jefferson County's exceptional documentary history. The result is the Jefferson County Archives, located in the Courthouse on Main Street in Dandridge. The Archives, which is administered by the County Public Records Commission is staffed by volunteers who welcome visitors from all over the U. S.

B. Pritchett Museum Collection, Bridgewater College
Rev. Pritchett was the Jefferson County Historian and established the county's Museum in 1955. The Webmistress has compiled a list of Jefferson County items identified in the Bridgewater collection and uploaded it on this Web site (click Search in the Menu). Rev. Pritchett's scrapbooks about development of the Museum are on microfilm and available from the Tennessee State Library and Archives.
