Died at his residence in Jefferson county on the 4th inst., Robert Craig. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, removed to Washington county, Virginia at an early day, from whence he removed to East Tennessee, Jefferson county, in 1817, in which county he has resided until the period of his death. Mr. Craig was for a number of years a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church and adorned his profession by a humble, meek and quiet spirit. He was destined by providence to be the subject of many and sore trials. In the death of his beloved wife and other afflictions in his family of a distressing character, all of which he bore without a murmuring word, exhibiting in his every act a truly Christian spirit. If Mr. Craig had an enemy, we are not aware of it. He leaves three daughters and one son in Tennessee, to mourn their loss, which we have no doubt was his unspeakable gain. The church of Strawberry Plains of which he was a worthy member and society, loses one of its brightest ornaments in the death of Mr. Craig. . .
