New Market – No sadder death than that of Mrs. L C Kennedy, has occurred in our town in a very long time.
Left a widow six years ago she with the help of her oldest daughter, Eva, made a brave struggle to keep the family together and well they succeeded until Eva Kennedy was stricken down with brain fever and suddenly taken away. Since that time Mrs. Kennedy with her two remaining daughters have gone on cheerfully fighting their battle until three weeks ago she was obliged to lay her burden down and she will never take it up again.
This morning at 10 o'clock her spirit joined her loved ones and her two daughters whom she had loved and worked so bravely are left alone and desolate. Friends and relatives were with her at the last and did all that loving kindness could suggest and will befriend the girls who are left so lonely.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. E. H. Elmore at the Presbyterian Church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock.
