Died in His Church

Jefferson City, Feb. 27 -- James E. Irwin died in the First Baptist church just at the beginning of the service Sunday. He had taught his Sunday school class as usual and as was his custom had pen and note book in hand to take the sermon notes for the church records when he expired.

He was 58 years old. Besides his widow, who was Miss Sallie Cate, he leaves three daughters, and one sister.

Mr. Irwin was a prominent Mason, being secretary of the Blue Lodge and also secretary of the Royal Arch chapter and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, being Past Worthy Patron.
