Letter to the editor of the Jefferson County newspaper in March, 2001:

I am looking for descendants of David Wilson Waugh (born January 23, 1806, in North Carolina) and wife, Jane Cook Waugh, who was living with family in Iredell County, NC, in 1840. Records indicate that 20 years later (1860) the couple was living in Jefferson County, TN.

In the 1870 Census, Curtis Leroy Waugh was still living in Jefferson County, TN. It is believed he married there.
