Local residents [or anybody else -- Webmistress] are invited to submit stories dealing with the history of Jefferson County, or their community, to be published in a regular historical column called "A Touch of Time."
The column is a joint project of The Standard Banner and the Jefferson County Historical Society.
Particularly needed are historical stories dealing with New Market, Strawberry Plains, Dandridge, or White Pine.

Note from the Webmistress: They like "old" history as well as "new" history. Stories from individuals' recollections of life in Jefferson County are especially interesting to read. Even a couple of paragraphs will be welcomed if they contain something with historical value.
Special request: If you send something to the paper, please e-mail a copy to the Webmistress for inclusion on this Web site. Most of our visitors live away, so they don't get to read the paper.
