Research Assistance

Dandridge, Feb. 28 -- Death today had taken W. T. Nelson, retired farmer of Dandridge, Route 3, member of the Home Guard of Confederate forces during the Civil War.  He was 94 -- believed to have been the oldest person in Jefferson County.
He had lived all his life on his 60-acre farm here.  During the Sixties it was his duty to protect women and children of Jefferson and Sevier Counties.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dora Sellers and Mrs. Willie Reagan, of Dandridge; seven sons, John G. Harrill and Nick Nelson, all of Knoxville, James and Hugh of New Market, Clifford of Kodak, and Robert Nelson of Dandridge; a sister, Mrs. Sula Anderson, of Knoxville; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Deep Springs Church, with burial in the church cemetery.  Atchley's in charge.
