New Market, June 3 – Col. S N Fain, an old and prominent citizen of Jefferson County, died suddenly at his home near Mossy Creek, last night at about 12 o'clock. Col. Fain was in apparent good health yesterday having gone from his home to Mossy Creek and returning and was overlooking his farm and farming interest during the day. He ate supper and retired to rest – awoke about midnight complaining of severe pain in his stomach and in a few moments breathed his last.
