Dr. A. A. Caldwell, one of the most widely known physicians and citizens in Jefferson County, died at his residence near Cynthinia, in that county yesterday morning, age 71 years.
He had practiced his profession in the community where he lived for more than a third of a century. He represented his county one term in the lower house of the state legislature. He was a man of sterling integrity, given to acts of benevolence and much beloved by his neighbors. He had lived to an age at which men do not as a general thing actively engage in a laborious profession; but he did, and he will be greatly missed in the community where he resided.
Funeral today at 3 p.m. at the family burying ground near his old home.
