Mrs. C. F. Matthews, widow of Dr. W. T. Matthews, formerly of Strawberry Plains, died at 4:15 o'clock yesterday morning at Maryville, of consumption. Mrs. Matthews had gone to Maryville where she could educate her daughters. She was connected with old families of East Tennessee. She was a most consistent Christian, a bright intelligent woman and her loss will be the grief of many friends.
