Mossy Creek – Martin Bales, a prominent farmer of this county, died very suddenly at his home Saturday night of heart failure. He had just returned from Copeland Springs, where he had been for his health. It will be remembered that he was thrown from his buggy in June, after attending the sermon preached by Rev. John A Broadus. He was a member of the Baptist Church and liked by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and four children who mourn his loss.
