Mr. & Mrs. John Hopkins' House Fire, 1892 PDF Print E-mail

Morristown, Tenn. February 9 – On last Saturday night on the Miller farm, in Jefferson County, eight miles south of this place, a tenement house occupied by an aged couple, John Hopkins and wife, caught fire from a defective flue and burned to the ground. No one was near to assist the aged couple and the old lady was burned and her husband barely escaped with his life.
