Mr. Jacob Dick, born at Abingdon, Va., December 5th, 1799, died at his home near New Market, Jefferson County, at 9 p.m. June 8th, 1892 at the advanced age of 92 years. Up to December 30th, he was in good health and active in attending to his business as one of the best and most prosperous farmers in the " New Market Valley." On that day he mounted his horse as was his pleasurable habit, but from some cause his horse became ungovernable and threw his old rider, who never recovered from his injury until death came to his relief. His remains will be buried at New Market, Friday. He has many relatives in Knoxville and throughout East Tennessee.
