Births, Marriages, and Deaths:

Rev. Wm. Minnis, D.D., of New Market, TN, was born in Blount Co, TN, Dec. 28, 1790, and died at New Market, TN, May 5, 1863. He was a Presbyterian Minister and married April 8, 1826, Catherine Eliza Coontz, born in VA, but of English ancestry.

He had the following children:
1. Sarah Ann
2. Mary Louise
3. Nancy Tartha
4. Catherine Eliza Clementine
5. John Bernan
6. William Boaz
7. James Hunter

All lived to be grown. In 1912 there were only two living, Mary Louise and John Bernan.

Sarah Ann Minnis married D. W. Biddle, MD. They had the following: (sic)

Mary Louise Minnis was born Aug. 22, 1829 at Witt's Foundry.

William Minnis Blackburn born Dec. 20, 1860

Ida Clementine Blackburn born Jan. 13, 1864 Married William G. Snoddy, M.D.

Children:
Ethel J. & Mary Rebecca Married Richard Fain Smith June 27, 1912

Nancy Tartha Minnis never married

Catherine Eliza Clementine married W. B. Caldwell.

Issue: William Perez Cowan died young

Col. John Bernan Minnis was born in Jefferson Co, East TN, July 10, 1838

William Boaz Minnis, William Edward, Lucy, Samuel, Mary, Helen Tartha, Ethel, India.

James Hunter Minnis married May Burnett. 2nd Josephine Burnet

Emma Katherine Blackburn born Aug. 23, 1851, married Samuel Bell.

Issue: Thomas Minnis, deceased, Mary Jessie, John Colvin, Ralph, Anna Ernestine, Mary Jessie Bell married Henry Williams

Julia Elvira Blackburn b Nov. 1853 and married George P. Franklin

Ellen Jennette Blackburn b Oct. 18, 1857, Married Rufus C. Bell.

Issue: Estelle Janette who married Charles A. Reese; Rhea C. Bell never married; Charles A., Jr, married Minnie Walker, [line ends with comma]

A-Marjorie (sic)

Tom married Nov. 26, 1847, Thomas S. Blackburn born Aug. 28, 1828, near Dandridge, Jefferson CO, TN, and died at the same place March 13, 1893. He was the son of James and Katherine (Jamison) Blackburn.

They had the following children: James Melville, Emma Katherine, Julia Elvira, William Minnis, Sarah Ann, Ellen Jennette, Ida Clementine, Mary Jessie.

James Melville Blackburn born Jan. 29, 1849, died in infancy.

Sarah Ann Blackburn born Aug. 23, 1851, married Samuel H. Edgar, died March 11, 1912.

Issue: A. Ralph Thomas, Edgar married and lives in Kansas City, MO.
