Dr. John Pickney Mathes was born Oct. 10, 1812, and died Feb. 15, 1870. He married 1st on Sept. 18, 1832, to Miss Jane Wright Rankin on Feb. 9, 1913, died Sept. 4, 1847. Daughter of Thomas Janet (Bradshaw) Rankin. Children: Martha Jane who married John Vance Sarah died in Infancy. [Note: This is how it was written in the book.]

William Thomas born Oct. 14, 1838, and died Sept. 1882.

Harriet Louisa born Dec. 10, 1840, and died Jan. 2, 1907.

Sarah Porter born June 15, 1843, and died May 15, 1878

Milton Anderson born March 24, 1846, died March 12, 1888

Sarah Porter Mathes married 1864 Rev. William Harris Lyle, (born Oct. 2, 1838, died Aug. 11, 1905)

James Lamar Lyle married Mary Clementina Blackburn Sept 1890

Children:

Lucile Eleanor born Feb. 16, 1892. She was married on Feb. 1923 (born Feb. 23, 1891) School Teacher

Sarah Porter born Jan. 19, 1894, a Music Teacher, not married

Carl Blackburn Lyle born July 30, 1897, married Marguerite Robinson, Dec. 29, 1918.

Children: James Robinson Lyle born June 16, 1920

Paul Alexander Lyle born Dec. 21, 1900

William Alexander Lyle married Nov. 16, 1906, to Willie Ruth Harris (born Oct. 22, 1870 daughter of William Franklin and Margaret Malzania Elliot Harris.)

William Harris born Feb. 10, 1814, married Harriett Malinda Inman, born Feb. 10, 1824 - child William Franklin Harris born April 4, 1840, married Margaret Malzenia Elliott born June 8, 1846

Hubert Samuel Lyle married 1904 at Auburn, NY, to Millicent Candee Robinson born July 28, 1880
